Hello and welcome to the Creative Arts Therapy International discussion forum!

This is a place to share internet and scholarly resources and discoveries about arts therapies, to ask questions and discuss professional and theoretical issues. I invite you to also post announcements of conferences and job opportunities for arts therapists.

One topic that particularly interests me is the dialogue between arts therapists and other mental health professionals- how do we see each other, and how can we come to understand one another as peers and assist one another professionally.

About me: I am a professional art therapist in private practice in Montreal. I am a professional member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association, and will be presenting my clinical research on internal resources and meaning making of sexual abuse survivors to the CATA conference at the end of September (1996). The 'DVATI' after my name refers to my art therapy degree obtained from the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute, which is acredited provincially and recognized as equivalent to a MA by the Canadian Art Therapy Association.
