Art and mental or social wellbeing
    Chris Girvan-Brown · 9/13/98 at 11:04 PM ET

We have an interest in research that indicates that encouraging contact with the Arts at all levels of society increases wellbeing and therefore helps to divert people from mental illness, we know Art has a place as therapy to recover from mental illness, but what about prevention by building self asteem, communication skills etc? Imagination and Creativity as Life skills...enrichment of life?

We are also looking at Art as a sustainable diversionary activity in youth at risk and youth in the Juvenile Justice system.

Any leads anyone may have would be appreciated...most of what I can find deals with Art as therapy after mental illness has established.

    Thanks
