how do you find out which MA programs are leading ones?

I am so excited to find a site that has "practicing" art therapists to ask questions of! I've printed the list of AATA approved education programs, but how do you find schools that are involved in the reseach of this field? I am interested in both private practice and research and am not sure if a research based degree would be more beneficial than a counseling psychology program. Any advice?
