If love feelings are addressed as if the client is having an infantile reaction or as if they are part of a pathology, the client gets stuck because the growth potential inherent in these feelings is not recognized, or is not accepted. The client ends up trying to insist on their validity instead of having them taken at face value so that the client can move on to the progressive aspect of these feelings. That's my take on things.
