Thank you for your quick reply to my question about the handshake. I already have the stage hypnosis encyclopedia by Mcgill. I ordered the book "hypnotic realities" and am eagerly waiting for it's arival. I also tried to focus more on what the patient experiences while I shake their hand, and that helped tremendously. I noticed that if you just hold on to the hand for about 30 seconds and act like if your about to say something or partially say something like "Hi (clients name), I'm wondering if you've noticed that...". The client will go into a trance very quickly and you can guide them to sit down and go deeper. It seems to be a very mild trance that they experience but intense enough to allow for suggestions to be followed.
