It is very important that you NOT assume that your 12-year-old patient is sexually "abusing" the child who he was humping. It is also important that you NOT assume that this behavior is a response to the exploitation that the patient himself has experienced.
ALL children experiment sexually, typically to the discomfort of the adults around them. Certainly, we do not condone coercive behavior, whether it is sexual or not. However, we do our child patients great damage when we assume that their sexual play and experimentation is pathological. It is extremely important that you find out the meaning of the behavior to the children involved.
By the way, you say that the patient's family does not trust him. Please take this into account when you evaluate what they say about him, as well as when you evaluate his behavior in attempting to connect with other children.
