Human behavior is not a cut and dry issue that can be quantified. Therefore, no, I can't substantiate my assertion with empirical literature. I do, however consider it cause for concern when a 12 year-old engages in sex play with a 5 year-old. A "normal" adolescent wouldn't need to seek out a much younger playmate if he didn't feel the need to take advantage of the power differential. However innocent or "normal" his intentions, the consequences on the 5 year old warrant serious concern, as well as questions of why a 12 year-old isn't "experimenting" with someone closer to his own age.
