    Re: child abuse?

Yes I believe that a high number of those who self mutilate, were in fact sexually abused. There is actually a couple of people at my school who are trying to research the correlation between those who were abused and those who engage in body piercings, which is a form of mutilation. I, of course, do not think one should assume child abuse just because someone is cutting, because it could be nothing more than severe depression,(not to sound blase) however I think that it is something that should be research more thoroughly.
