Carlos, Thanks for your message, and I have since contacted Dr Fishman. I also read your previous replies on the forum in which you commented that Dr Fishman's work with adolescents have shown that we (whether professionals, educators or parents) tend to chase the symptoms rather than to attamept to change the social context thus making the symptoms redundant. At least that is the interpretation I gave your message. I wonder how specifically this may be done with a young adolescent with anorexic-type problems. How could one advise parents to search for opportunities to make the symptoms redundant? Or was the suggestion limited to adolescents with conduct disorders? I certainly liked the creative "point of entry" of that comment.
I would be interested to know more. Thanks.
