It is good to read that some professionals are doing some type of assessment before jumping to the mythical magical solutions.

Dr. Erickson was a very astute diagnostician and emphasized observation of one's patients. Less publicized anecdotes, colleagues, and patients report that he routinely developed a sufficient history and assessment that was also a part of the on-going conversation.

Some obvious procedures such as an appropriate medical exam and exploration of relevant factors to the presenting problem are rarely mentioned in the mystical powers genre.

While various accounts publish the interesting clinical interaction and favorable outcomes, they fail to mention Erickson's medical training and discussions with referring professionals and the patients prior to the highlighted dialogues.
