    Re:Projection in Cyberspace

    It's tricky to identify one's own defense mechanisms because they tend to be unconscious. But if you suspect that you might be projecting, you can ask yourself some simple questions. "I think Joe sounded angry in his email, but is it perhaps ME who is angry? And if so, what would I be angry about?"

    Another strategy is to ask people. If you think Joe sounds angry in his email, ask him. If he's not angry, it may be that (1) he's denying it, and/or, (2) you are projecting it.
