    Online Counselling for addictions
    Kate · 10/04/00 at 6:18 ET

    Hi John,

I've been away, and have been catching up with the postings, so while I'm here I was wondering what your opinion was of the suitability of Online Counselling for people with drug or alcohol addictions. I have this picture of clients typing while under the influence...and the Counsellor having no idea etc. I am aware that there are many valuable sites giving information about addiction, but I can't find an opinion on whether it would be just too easy for clients to hide behind the computer while telling the e-counsellor they are doing well on the program. I'm referring to clients who have an addiction as part of a package of other issues, not a specific online service for Alcohol or drug abuse.

Wondered if you had any thoughts on this.

    Cheers,

    Kate
