I've been quite curious about Zen for awhile--happened to stumble across a Zen adherent (is that appropriate?) online some time ago and our brief conversation piqued my curiosity. I was told that normally a Zen doesn't discuss their beliefs unless asked three times. Somebody should tell the Seventh Day Adventists about that concept. Maybe it's another aspect of searching for "self." I've found myself disillusioned with Judaism and Christianity and have been casually poking about...nearly finished with Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra," have read a bit about humanism, and hope to learn more about Zen. I've read only a few of the stories thus far but find them intriguing. That, for me, is one of the great aspects of the online world--meeting new people, learning about others' ideas and beliefs, and the accessiblity of so much material...but it seems the best stuff is often found serendipitously.
