    Re:Online Counselling for addictions

Having fought alcohol addiction (successfully for 16 years now), I personally don't think I could've done so without something provided by AA: a sponsor. He was available to me 24/7--to reinforce, to cajole, or to just offer nonjudgmental support and guidance. Reading your post, I wondered about that aspect. What if I'd had a strong urge for a drink...would I have logged on? Would somebody on the other side of the screen be the same as being f2f with a sponsor? I can't help thinking it wouldn't be the same, or as effective--at least for me.
