Constructions and Reconstuctions of the slef in virtual reality
    jennifer · 10/15/01 at 10:09 ET

I have recently read the article constuctions and reconstructions of the self in vritual reality by sherry turkle. It is a peice on the effects of MUD's (Multi-User Dungeons). as a psychologist she says that they are benifical to people and rectefying problems as well as working through problems. she gives examples as her methods of developing telling stories of a boy who was suicidle and use MUD's to escape and a girl who uses role-playing game to resolve some issue with her mother and understaning her point of view.

I was wondering what is your opinion on MUD's, what the draw backs of them, and where do you see them going in the future? Do you see them as a benifit or a negavite thing in practice and general? As what are your experiences with them?

    Thank for your help,
    Jennifer
