Actually, Andrew, I think this is a very interesting way to develop profiles of people. How it might relate to known personality types or psychological styles is an interesting question that probably requires research. The way to begin that research would be to detect distinct styles of how people move through the site. Then, through interviews and questionnaires determine the psychological characteristics of those people.Some relevant variables for user styles might be length of time spent on a page and on the site, whether more time is spent on graphic intensive or text intensive pages, whether or they attempt to link to a human interaction (e.g., chat room, tech support, email link), circular or linear movement through the site, where they're coming from and where they go when they leave the site.... among other things.
