Perhaps a social work perspective is at "odds" with this conversation, however, for what it is worth.... Within my practice,Cognitive Therapy works - with some people. So does Logotherapy, Reality Therapy and so forth. Perhaps, "fitting" a patient to a "therapy" is not the answer, but individualizing to meet patient need is. I am of course uninformed as to the diversity of your patients. As for me, my patients are so diverse, and respond so differently, that I am constantly learning the "ins and outs" of any theory that will meet patient need. I feel when one becomes so fixated on a particular theory that many patients are lost in the therapist's ideology - this could prove unhealthy for all. Actually, I believe you are all "right" some of the time. Betsy
