    Art therapy in medical settings
Ruth Murdoch · 2/28/98 at 3:43 PM ET

I am currently studying at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. I am working with medical patients and looking at medical experience (illness, treatments and procedures) as a source of psychological trauma. I have amassed an extensive reference list on medical art therapy, medical trauma and the psychological effects of medical experience. I am interested in finding feminist analyses of medical settings and experience. I am also currently looking for references on aspects of the medical environment that perhaps contribute to an experience of trauma in medical settings. Finally I am interested in any documented cases of self-injury resulting from a history of medical trauma. Any suggestions would be welcome.
