Thanks for your comments Sean. Yes, ALMOST, all of the time the psychiatrist transfers patients to a GP. This young woman has been taking serzone since she first came in and has not been switched around on various meds... which is why it seems odd. The psychiatrist only sees patients 15-20 mins max [once a month in her case] and it is assumed to be for the sole purpose of dispensing and monitoring side effects of meds. Maybe I am looking for something that isn't there... On the other hand as you said yourself, I have no real way of knowing if the attraction is paternal or sexual.
But does that matter aside from the fact that paternal would be the lesser of two evils? Have any of you ever felt an attraction or protective feeling over a patient and failed to talk to a supervisor about it?
