    I,myself have not done a lot of reading on this particular aspect of sexual abuse, but my supervisor specializes in treating sexual abuse perpetrators, from pre-teen to adulthood. He has been doing this for about 10 years, so I imagine he has done a fair amount of research, and could provide many citations. He sums it up as the "wherewolf effect." What happens when you get bit by a wherewolf?" In the movies, you turn into one. In real life, of course, not all who are abused turn around and abuse others, but there is a good percentage who do, and there is a large percentage of abusers who have been abused.
