Hi Ann. Your patient's symptoms sound too complex to attribute to her parent's sexual behavior alone, as she described it to you. She sounds as though she has borderline pathology going on. If so, it's going to be hard to distinquish what really happened from her take on what happened, and her reality testing may be impaired as well. The quality of her relationships, most usefully, the one she attains with you, will orovide additional information, guiding your assessment and interventions. Good luck. I hope you are receiving good clinical supervison, or would consider some to assist you with this challenging case.
