SEXUAL ISSUES IN CLINICAL PRACTICE FORUM ARCHIVE
Re:Behavioral Observations of Homosexuality--Question?
Mr/Ms Wondering: BINGO! You have hit the nail on the head on two accounts, 1. Selection bias, and 2. Base rates. There is always a danger in generalizing to the population on the basis of one's clinical experience with a subset of that population. Given the fluidity and ephemeral nature of today's culture (a function of TV and other means of dilution), it's hard to pin down what is an essential feature of the subset of a population. Take care, Ron
