In essence you ask -- what is the impact of contingent Re: contingent and part-time workers vs full time employees on corporate loyality or identification of employees with their companies. See Tom Peters book -- " Re: Imagine! via www.tompeters.com As for my own opinion -- if you have a company of part-time temporary workers at lower levele -- below management level probably it has no impact. If however the staff are temporary managers and executives -- their loyalty and commitment to a company will vary in accordance with their own character also. If they are the type who invests in the work they do, then it may make no difference if they are part time temporary or full time. What I believe makes a defference is how people are treated by superiors and peers--do they feel rewarded, is the work interesting to them and aligned with what they believe is important? If the answers are yes, then they will invest and work hard and show loyalty whether or not they are part-time and contingent or full time.
