    Looking for help
Ed Lee · 10/30/99 at 10:37 pm ET

    Hi :
My name is Edward Lee, I am a Sergeant with the Massachusetts State Police
( 28 years in Law Enforcement ) . My full time job is the commanding officer
of a 6 person ( all Sworn Troopers ) Employee Assistance Unit. Our function
is to provide emotional support and resources for members of our 2500 person
department. Some of the support is for substance abuse, marriage counseling
, and many other " life " problems . We are also dispatched to the scene of every police involved shooting, and many fatal accidents to provide mental health support to the Police Officers involved. I don’t think most people realize the emotional toll it takes on an Officer over a 30 year career.
Any way I also teach night classes at two local ( Outside Boston ) colleges, both graduate and undergraduate courses, mostly Law Enforcement, psychology and sociology and I am looking for some help in putting together a class in " Management of Organizational Behavior ".
The recommended Text is Management of Organizational Behavior by Paul Hersey - Kenneth Blanchard . Are you aware of any videos on this subject ? Any other methods to keep a classes attention for over 3.75 hours. These students will be mostly Police Officers that are also working a 40 - 60 hour week so I need to be innovative.
The course was offered to me for the January semester and it would seem to be a
logical extension of some of the courses I do now. Can you be of any help to me in my endeavor ?
This is a ten week semester, night course, I am trying to figure out the best way to present all the
material. I would gladly pay any postage ,etc. involved. I need to find a good resource list.
    thanks in advance
    Sgt. Ed Lee M. A. , M. Ed.
