Whether you are able to appreciate it or not, and regardless of whether you agree, the ethical principles were set in place to PROTECT "real clients" like yourself. Real clients are harmed by, not helped, by therapists who engage in unethical behavior. The ethical principles for therapists are not arbitrary, and representa the barest minimal professional behavior. Actually, I hope that you and all the other "real clients" hire therapists whose professional practices far exceed bare-bones ethical principles. Sadly, a minority of therapists do not live up even to these minimum requirements. That is why safeguards need to be put in place, the most important one being client education. I am not judgin you, the client, but do not aplogize for holding professionals up to tough scrutiny, and would not hesitate to impose appropriate penalties if ethical infractions were brought to my attention. There is a "due process" in place for examining suspected ethical violations. Most therapists carry professional liability insurance and can be represented in hearings and before ethics committees by attorneys trained in these matters. So the therapist is protected to some degree from false or misleading accusations as well. Please get whatever ehlp you need. You don't need permission from anyone on this forum to do that. Best wishes for a successful outcome for your treatment.
