A quick note about misrepresenting and upcoding: By coincidence, I just received a list of recent Medical (licensing) Board decisions from California. There were half a dozen physicians censured in some way (from public reprimands to license revocation) for Medi-Cal (Medicaid) or other insurance billing fraud of some kind. This represents a wide variety of kinds of fraud, in all specialties, but it supports the point that those who oversee licensure take honest billing it seriously. On another topic raised (by our Friendly Puter Tech, I think), I note that the person who started this thread says she pays something like $500 a month in health insurance premiums and has what appears to be a very good policy. That would suggest that she is not one of the poor folks who might most deserve Robin Hood's services. The concept makes a catchy "sound bite," but there was apparently no middle class in Robin's England. :-) Interesting discussion; glad it came up.
