    Milton Erickson and Brief Therapy
Nannette Serra · 02/02/01 at 2:17 PM ET

I'm a grad student and have been studying Berg and DeJong's Interviewing for Solutions. While trying to find out the history of Brief Therapy I read that it started with Milton Erickson. I have read enough to know that Erickson's ideas must have been brought to the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, California where they evolved into Brief Therapy. I am confused about how hypnosis enters into Brief Therapy as the information I've gleaned from the class I am taking does not connect hypnosis with brief therapy.

    Thanks for any replies.
