I hope this is the appropriate place for my query! I am using personal construct methodology to elicit the modes of personal construing of social relationships among drug addicts and alcoholics who attend my clinical practice for therapy. My clients include individuals who have generally managed to free themselves from the habit and are now attending individual therapy. I further try and implement some of the fixed role therapy exercises to explore new ways of perceiving. For this prupose I try and modify the self-character scripts and provide realistic but somewhat modified "ideal-self" scripts which clients can try in their daily living (for a 14 day trial period). I like them to explore what it feels like reading, writing, gesturing, grimacing, eating, moving, etc. in the style of the "imagined other". How would this George Kelly-ytpe method compare with Ericksonian Techniques? I find the similaity remarkable at times.

PS Im writing an article about this and would appreciate any comments, similar publications, etc
