You might find useful background material in the account of Aldous Huxley's reason for, and reactions to, his hypnosis sessions with Erickson. You can look for Huxley's name in the index of the collected works and the other works by Erickson (written with Rossi). I believe the Huxley account is in Huxley's book DOORS OF PERSEPTION and/or HEAVEN AND HELL. Sadly, the original records were lost in a fire but these memories from Huxley and Erickson remain. (Be sure to get Huxley's and not just Erickson's.)
