I was told that the best way is to pace some parts of the person you are communicating with.
Another is to refrain from making judgements, since your conscious gets little information but is apt to make judgements while your subconscious gets much more information but does not judge. A judgement could suppress unconscious spontaniety.
Disregard monotone verbalizations, and pay attention to changes in voice mechnisms or patterns.
There are many things you can pay attention to, like the rhythm of speech or movement and changes in it, this could give you a sense of the mood the person is in, or the difference in the rhythms of the two sides of the body, but for now you can start with A, B, C.... one by one and train your senses.
