Never heard of him before. However his web site says he has been in clinical practise for 45 years. This would place the beginning around 1959. Dr. Erickson was born in 1901. By 1959, Dr. Erickson had already published his clinical research for 30 years at that point, had been chief psychiatrist at the countries top mental hospital, had begun the American Society of Clinical Hypnsosis, and had edited its Journal for 10. However, I can't see from his web site that there is or is not any similarity to Dr. Erickson's work. So....if Dr. Dobson learned or discovered a method similar to Dr. Erickson's de novo, congrats to him. But, ~if~ it his claim that he did so, my conclusion would be that it indicates he didn't read the research and literature available in the field and did not associate with the professional society for clinical hypnosis during his education, study, or career development phase.
