Usually Bandler will tell a story about curing something but many times it is really creating a therapeutic metaphor, either setting up (seeding) something or installing a step in a atrategy or something else... this doesn't mean he has not succeeded with many different clients because he has, but I want to clarify he has not written techniques for curing multiple personality disorders or schizophrenias... he has cured such things but he understands and teaches about subjective experience. This means each client if unique!!! Anyway, most of his "metaphors" are true or pieces of a true event. If he worked for 3 hours with a paranoid schizophrenic (documented on video) he will tell the story as something that took 20 minutes, but he will tell it in such a way he is setting up something he is about to do.
