I seem to recall that in one of the previous posts, here or in the archives, that there was some mention of depression following an emdr session. If someone feels depressed after an emdr session is it because the depression was always there and has been brought to the forefront? Is it a temporary thing? I've been feeling sad, alone and, I guess, a degree of depression since an emdr session a week ago. Have had contact with therapist since then. He thinks there might be some chemical imbalance and, perhaps, anti-depressants are needed. I'm resistant to that, have never been person who uses medication and I'm not too sure that I'm in a space where it is necessary. I guess I'd like to know more about emdr and depression, will the treatment trigger a person into a depressed state? I know you can't give personal diagnosis/responses, however, some general information would be helpful to myself and, perhaps, to other forum users.
