about psychology of chatting online

Hi, everyone,
I am yuynchen, a graduate student in China and I am preparing a thesis about the psychology of chatting online.
In my opinion, chatting online is just another communicating methold and it enhances our relationship with the others but not isolates ourselves from them. Maybe there are some abnormal behaviors brought by this kind of communicating but these should not be exaggerated.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
