    Re:about psychology of chatting online

In my own experience, online interaction has something in common with reading. I could not be separated from books as a child or adolescent. As an adult I had to discipline my reading habits but remain a happy bookworm.
Now that I'm online I find myself thinking about the net in the same way that I think about people sometimes. That is, I see every person as a small walking library full of interesting & illuminating narratives. The difference between people in RL & online is simply that there are more people accessible to me online.
However, I can gently extract meaning from the inarticulate in RL. Online, it takes too long or is misinterpreted. Online, I can't get across the 'I am a safe person' message in the same way I can get it across in f2f.
