Re:Transference

Sure, Ellie, that's the theory about transference. The ambiguity of online text relationships sometimes leads us to perceive the other person in terms of how we perceive ourselves, and how we perceive significant others in our lives. In other words, there is a tendency to see the online other as being like ourselves (good or bad aspects) or as like important people in our lives (good or bad aspects).
