I'm sure there would be some unique aspects to these communities, as well as some similarities to other communities. That's one of the unique features of cyberspace - the proliferation of so many different kinds of groups. Offhand, I can't think of anyone who is specifically studying these kinds of communities. But you might try locating Andrea Baker, who has worked with couples online.
