    bead therapy

But how does it work? I am a therapist at an abused women's agency who recently added a a jewelry-making (beads) group as an activity... instantly discovering that it also has therapeutic effects. The design part is creative and then the stringing has that repetitive, rhythmic meditational aspect that Dr. Herbert Benson talks about in terms of the relaxation response. The silence in the room is very soothing, but it can also be broken by optional storytelling in a low pressure situation without a therapist's hounding questions.

So I'm at this funny point.. it's working for me and my clients, but I have never studied art therapy and hope you can tell me what's happening here....
