Where is the data on homosexuality? I admit that the more I dive into conversations with paitents who are homosexual I see so many deviant behaviors that would seem to point to a deeper meaning in their lives. It would seem that the political aspects destroyed real research around the 1980's and it is mostly useless in today's journals. I am finding it difficult to believe that the promescuity and the personal hardships with intimacy that I hear in homosexuals are simply the same as experienced with heterosexual mates. If we are to believe that you can take from the society's products a feeling of it's character, then homosexuality from what I see objectively have created bars and "bath houses" that not only remove the consequences of sexual promescuity, but also attempt to justify it while down playing the effect it has on long term relationships and pyschologically on the individuals feeling of self-worth. Granted, I don't believe in the hatred people exibit on homosexuals, and I believe that the current state of homosexuals "coming out" and the gardual acceptance in society is good, because we cannot gather any data or witness any patterns of behavior without first destroying the deep seated feelings that revolve around this issue and cloud objective judgement (is there really such a thing?). An entire paper could be written on just the aspect of "coming out" for an individual. We have yet to explore anything in depth I believe, and the data coming mostly from the 1960's are not worth reading. After listening to people pour out their hearts about quick experiences and their gradual justification of sex as simply an inconsequential act not to be judged or discussed, is really motivating me to dive in deeper. But why does someone want to ruin a career after one set of people, when there is sooo much more money in the common and the verified treatable, huh my friends?
