Thank you John and Michael for your answers. I was thinking about the point of typing skills. I don´t think that typing slowly could allow somebody to think better his answers. I think that there are not universal trues, but the point is how much can a patient follow the rule of free association. And there is a shared responsibility . In my cases, with my patients, every time I consider that free association is no working, I remember them the analitical rule. On the other side, it is very interesting the point that John remarks about the more accurate way to record the free asociation when you work with written words. This also leads us to consider the way to make present the silence. Lacan used to say "the presence of an absence". My best regards
This is one of the advantages of written psychoanalysis.
At the same time the work of the analyst becomes harder. The words are there, and you can´t lose the opportunity to point them out. I feel sometimes that this is like a big challenge and think that in some cases I would be strong enough to refuse it.
I would like your opinions on this.
