I believe with abused clients sometimes we have to let them guide us so that they don't feel victimized in therapy like they were by the abuser. I agree Kimberly, it is all too common for therapists to emotionally abuse clients and their loved ones, adding more abuse onto abuse. I hope her therapy worked out OK.
