Let's put things in context: It seems some have forgetten heart and stay way too much in the head. Makes me wonder what they are doing in the field. You seem to take it as proof · 06/24/01 at 2:21 PM ET The head keeps objectivity needed for the best interests of the client. The heart allows "joining" the client which many personality theories including Jungian, Existential, Hamnistic all believe healing. I happen to agree with these. One is not a disqualification of the other when it comes to head and heart. It is like yen and yang. They complete one another. It is amazing to me what some can read into two short sentences what is NOT there. I think the concept of balance IS in these two sentences by the words, "too much" and "forgotten."
that one has forgotten the heart if one uses one's head. Then you wonder why anyone who uses his or her head would be in the mental health profession. So you must hold that that one's using one's head is a disqualification for sucess in the mental-health profession. You may be right. And if you are good representative of the profession, then you are right.
My answer:
Hardly .... I am only suggesting balance, not taking as "proof"....
