Re:child play or sexual abuse?

The author's reference to social services'"archaic" "power struggle" to "save the world" in this case is not only insulting and unprofessional, but it reflects a ubiquitous attitude toward social work in general that compounds the difficulty of the work itself. The fact remains that social service agencies do extremely difficult, but absolutely necessary work in investigating and servicing child abuse and neglect allegations/cases, for low pay and little respect. Further, condescending clinicians who turn up their noses at other professionals (who incidentally, choose to do pure clinical work) do not only benefit from countless client referrals from social workers, but these same clinicians are often the first ones to report any and all "suspicions" of child abuse/neglect to the various social service agencies responsible.

I agree with clinician Lamaste that the age difference is significant and not necessarily the result of normal development. A review of the relevant literature will support this.
