    In general, I would say no one should be forced to undergo surgery, particularly surgery that, as far as we know, has no medical benefit. Surgery conducted on a competent adult, against their will, would qualify in my book as a human rights violation.

    Children undergo all kinds of procedures they don't consent to: tonsillectomies, circumcisions, vaccinations, etc. In those cases, the parents make the decision. If you feel confident enough that you know better than the parents what's best for these children (i.e. what's "Right"), by all means I encourage you to go to one of these countries and share your enlightened philosophy with the locals. I'd be interested to hear how your trip goes!
