Re: Child Sexual Abuse Treatment

I want to thank everyone for thier advice and responses, varied as they may be. I feel better about being unsure if this is abuse or child's play because clearly, it's a charged, uncertain issue.

The new information that I have is that the 12 year old boy's history of "sexual abuse" consisted of playing spin the bottle with older 10-12 year old children when he was 7. He was taught to "have sex" which meant "humping" with his cloths on. I am meeting with the family next week to clarify this incident for the aunt and uncle and to come up with a balance between ensuring safty for the 5 year old, developing trust between the 12 year old and aunt and uncle and allowing them to relax and not feel that they have to have eyes in the back of thier head. I want to aviod labeling this child a perp and making it a self fulfilling prophecy but still maintain safty for the 5 year old. ANY additional suggestions would be much appreciated.
