Argus: He also recently arranged for two other men and himself to simulate a rape with his wife while their faces were obscured with motorcycle helmets, not revealing his own identity until all three had had intercourse with her. She was physically held down by each man in turn while this took place. Afterward, he took off his helmet and laughed as if it was a joke. J: The way you tell this, it is not clear whether this actually was a rape. It sounds to me more like actual rape rather than "simulated" rape if she did not understand ahead of time that this activity was planned for her entertainment. If she was terrified, it would seem that she must have believed she was being raped. Is there any difference between being raped and being put in a postion in which one is set up to believe one is actually being raped while feeling terrified? If so, what would that difference consist in? Agus: She admitted to me privately that she had been terrified of being hurt and was angry after her husband told her it was all a joke. However, this story had originally been told to me by the wife as if I would understand the joke. J: The vast majority of responsible swingers whom I know anything about (and I know many) would tend to interpret the meaning of this story, at best, as a case of very poor communication that is anathema to the swinging lifestyle ( if not a case of crass rudeness and disrespect that is likely to be very destructive to a love relationship) or, at worst, actual rape.
