It is interesting to ponder on web based therapy in its efforts to provide 'therapy'. I use email counselling and also facilitate
an unlisted online rape support group. I do believe that online therapy can be therapy. But I suppose that if we constantly
strive to define online therapy within the framework of f2f then it will always be lacking. Virtual reality does not equate to
actual reality. However f2f therapy also has artificial constraints. Perhaps we need to look at some of the innovations of the
email medium independently of f2f structure. It does not supplant f2f but it does have a unique validity that can provide
therapy for some...
