I am 36 and was diagnosed with disthymia three years ago. I see a therapist who specializes in depression and knows what disthymia is. I also take Zoloft (100mg), and attend regular Al-Anon meetings which is a support group for friends and families of alcoholics. These seem to help, but I find now I need to talk to other people to see how they live with disthymia. My therapist says we are working on my self-esteem. I feel like I am totally recreating my life. It is VERY difficult somedays to deal with life on life's terms. I usually react and am trying not to react like a rotten little victim/child any more. If you want to e-mail me regarding this or just to talk, please do!
My regular e-mail is: vemdaphoenix@y ahoo.com
