That California licensing board and it's members is extremely irresponsible too! If they plan on hearing cases and putting their stamp of approval onto their licensees who are running on line therapy, they darn well better start REQUIRING their licensees to have at all times on their so called "secure sites", a 128 bit encryption SSL certificate. Without one, no internet chat is secure. They also should be requiring that all e-mail is encrypted to via SSL too! And if a shrink can't come up with yearly proof that at all times they had SSL encryption certificates to protect confidentiality, no time gaps, they should be fined, or suspended, or both. Those goofs at the board, you can read all their names, are being irresponsible to the State if they don't require this. Even without oversight, if a shrink says their site is secure and it is not, it is still fraud. They are probably friends of the web site owner and let them slide - shrinks protect their own you know.
