And another thing... They have over 200 psychotherapists on that site! 200! PhD's, MSW's, etc. And you are telling me that they can't afford to buy a measly little one hundred dollar SSL certificate to keep their clients conversations with their psychotherapists secure for their clients? And feel they have to lie that their web site is secure? Comoooooonnnn. Know what else, If I was a responsible shrink advertising services on a site set up by another company, I would make DAMNED well sure, that that site is secure. And if it was not, my name or photograph would NOT be on it! I would not care how much money I would lose, no amount of money would be worth putting my clients confidentiality at risk if I was a shrink! And no excuses from shrinks doing business on the net saying, "Well, gee, gosh golly, I didn't know, another company set up that web site, I just pay them to be on it." Not good enough for me! If a shrink is going to be doing business on the internet, they darned well better know what in the heck a SSL certificate is, and if they don't, and do not know how to verify by using their web browser if the site they use for psychotherapy is in fact SSL secure by using MS Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator - (takes about two seconds and a second grader can do it), and if they are not willing to light a fire under the web host company to get them to install a cert, then they have ABSOLUTELY NO BUNINESS, selling their psychotherapy services on the internet! NONE! And you are going to tell me that TWO HUNDRED shrinks, with ADVANCED DEGREES, from MAJOR UNIVERSITIES ALL OVER THE US, do NOT HAVE THE BRAINS, to check on this? Or care enough to make sure that site is secure so that confidential conversations between therapist and client is protected? This is a PRIME EXAMPLE, why psychotherapy on the internet should not be done, unless shrinks are TRAINED to do it. Because EVERY ONE of those shrinks on that web site, now look like complete idiots, or charlatans, or both. If you want to see if you had therapy during the four months that site was not secure with a shrink on that site, then click hereand you can search for all the psychotherapists who have been involved with a web site which was advertised as confidential and secure, but which was not.
